AUBREY 001MAKES HER DEBUT AT THE ICE

After 8 months and 1,000 hours, Aubrey 001 was presented to the public for the first time at The ICE as part of Persol’s showcase of ‘adventure-focused’ vehicles.

A bespoke restoration of a 1973 Land Rover Series III 109 station wagon, Aubrey 001 was designed by the Aubrey Automobiles team for life in the Swiss Alps, and so it was only fitting that the first public outing was in the extreme winter conditions of The ICE. Sat atop 50-centimeter-thick ice, Aubrey was on display as part of Persol’s showcase of ‘adventure-focused’ vehicles, and was dressed with skis, snow chains, and other items equipped for the snow.

Arguably, one of the most enjoyable parts of getting to the International Concours of Elegance in St.Moritz is the journey onto the frozen lake. Joining Aubrey 001 on the Persol stand was an original Meyers Manx, and so after a brief re-fuel at the Meyers Manx Cafe, both cars sped off for a spot of ice driving.

Overall, the event was an overwhelming success, with hundreds of spectators visiting the stand and seeing Aubrey 001 in all her glory. A huge thank you to Persol for hosting us, and to Meyers Manx for making such wonderful companions on the stand!
